Angel Oliva Sr., a savior of the cigar industry, was honored posthumously on April 19 in his adopted home of Ybor City, Florida, a section of Tampa. The day was officially designated Angel Oliva Sr. Day.
Eighteenth Street was renamed Angel Oliva Sr. Street in a ceremony attended by Oliva's family, including his sons John Oliva Sr. and Angel Oliva Jr.
